I am a 41 year old male who has hypothryoid, insulin-dependent diabetes, and little energy. My thyroid levels are all in the normal range, and I am getting better control of my blood sugars, but am having a difficult time keeping the weight off. I am 5′11" and weigh about 185-190. Would like to be around 170-175. I lift weights, do moderate cardio, and have a lower fat diet. Any ideas/suggestions would be most appreciated.
Byetta is irrelevant for type 1 diabetes. Also, Byetta does not have FDA approval for the treatment of type 1 diabetes (only type 2, an etiologically unrelated disease with a similar name). The only effective way to lose weight is to consume fewer calories than you eat. However, in trying to manage your glucose levels using only insulin, you are missing several other hormones that normally exist in the body, most notably amylin (another hormone which is produced by the beta cells). There is now a synthetic version of amylin, although most people find that reducing their insulin dosage by increased exercise and/or reduced carbohydrate consumption is often as effective.

Good luck I am a 32 year old female with same conditions. I have tried for 3 years and can’t loose more then 3 pounds. i loose them they come back its a circle. I hate it.
