Before discussing the subject of what causes type II diabetes, you might want to know how does the pancreas help to maintain sugar in the blood stream.

The pancreas is located deep in the abdomen behind the stomach. It contains thin tubes joining to form a single opening into the intestine that is located just beyond the stomach. The pancreas produces juices, enzymes and insulin.

1. The enzymes digest fat, protein, and carbohydrates.

2. Pancreatic juices combined with juices from the intestines help to do the job of breaking down protein, carbohydrates and fat therefore it plays an important role in maintaining good health.

3. The pancreas also produces insulin, which is important in regulating the amount of sugar or glucose in the blood.

There are 3 different kinds of type II diabetes:

1. If some of the cells in the pancreas die off the pancreas can’t produce enough insulin to regulate sugar in the blood stream, then we have type II diabetes that are caused by deficiency of insulin. Today experts still don’t know the causes of how pancreas cells die off, but they suspect that excessive alcohol drinking may be the factor. According to surveys, 70% of patients with type II insulin deficiency diabetes were heavy alcohol users.

2. If the pancreas produces enough insulin, but the receptor sites are clogged up by fat and cholesterol causing insulin not being pick up at the cell from receptor sites, we have type II insulin sufficient diabetes. Most cases of type II insulin sufficient diabetes are caused by uncontrolled diet that are high in saturated fat, smoking and excessive alcohol drinking.

3. If the pancreas also produces enough insulin, but allergic responses to certain foods cause resistance of cells to allow insulin to enter blood stream. In other words, if the cells of the muscle and liver resist to take up glucose from the blood causing high concentration of glucose in the blood stream, we have a case of type II insulin resistance diabetes. The foods creating this problem vary from person to person. Most people with type II insulin resistance diabetes seem to be precipitated by overweight, smoking and excessive alcohol drinking. Type II insulin resistant diabetics should have allergy shots in order to find the exact foods causing insulin resistance reactions. I hope these information will help.

Diabetes has different types. Type 1 is also called as Insulin-Dependent Diabetes Mellitus (IDDM) or sometimes called Juvenile onset diabetes. In this type of diabetes insulin therapy is always required. It can take place at any age, but it is most frequently diagnosed in children, adolescents, or on early adulthood.

The pancreas, an organ behind the stomach produces insulin through special cells called beta cells. The insulin is necessary to go glucose into cells, then it is keep it is stored and afterward it can be use to have energy. Absolute deficiency of insulin is due to absence of Islet of Langerhans in the pancreas. The insulin that is produced by beta cells of the pancreas are completely damaged which result to body can no longer produce insulin within five to ten years.

If insulin is not enough, the body is unable to use this sugar for energy. And it will results to the symptoms of type 1 diabetes.

The cause of type 1 DM is unknown, but hereditarily vulnerable people can have an immune reaction caused by a viral or it can be environmental trigger. The insulin-produced by pancreatic beta cells are erroneously attack by white blood cells.

The client is thin. This is due to inability of the body to obtain glucose from carbohydrates. Therefore the body breaks down fats and protein for glucose supply. The client is also prone to Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA). In absence of insulin, fats are metabolized. There is increased production of ketones, resulting to ketoacidososis.

Signs and Symptoms

Polyuria, polydypsia polyphagia
Weight loss
Blurred vision
Slow wound healing
Feeling tired or fatigued
Losing the feeling or feeling tingling in your feet

Diabetes is diagnosed by blood tests such as Fasting blood glucose, Random (nonfasting) blood glucose level, Oral glucose tolerance test. Another test that is used in testing type1 diabetes is called Ketone Testing.

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that results in destruction of insulin-producing beta cells of the pancreas. Lack of insulin causes an increase of fasting blood glucose, When people eat, the pancreas automatically produces the right amount of insulin to move glucose from blood into the cells. In people with diabetes, however, the pancreas either produces little or no insulin, or the cells do not respond appropriately to the insulin that is produced. Glucose builds up in the blood, overflows into the urine, and passes out of the body in the urine. Thus, the body loses its main source of fuel even though the blood contains large amounts of glucose.

I’ve noticed i’m starting to gain weight since I was diagnosed, i’m going to try to start working out, but I want to be able to eat what I need and not gain weight as well. Are there any ways to get around this? For the past four weeks I have been deailng with my new diagnosis, for breakfast and sometimes dinner, I eat a bagel with creme cheese(which probably is’nt good, and for lunch as a matter of fact. It was an easy thing to pack, that’s my excuse. For snacks i’ve been eating granola bars- one is vanilla almond, the other is a trail mix sort of thing. Spaghettio’s, granny smith apple cereal, A LOT of eggs since thay have no carbs and all I drink is Crystal Light. Help?

Here’s some information on waht to avoid, but also on how to cure diabetes.

Diabetes

All diabetics have a common fluke parasite, Eurytrema pancreaticum, the pancreatic fluke of cattle, in their own pancreas. It seems likely that we get it from cattle, repeatedly, by eating their meat or dairy products in a raw state. It is not hard to kill with a zapper but because of its infective stages in our food supply we can immediately be reinfected.

Eurytrema will not settle and multiply in our pancreas without the presence of wood alcohol (methanol). Methanol pollution pervades our food supply — it is found in processed food including bottled water, artificial sweetener, soda pop, baby formula and powdered drinks of all kinds including health food varieties. I presume wood alcohol is used to wash equipment used in manufacturing. If your child has diabetes, use nothing out of a can, package or bottle except regular milk, and no processed foods.

To make it simple.
The pancreas produces insulin.
Pancreatitis is inflammation of the pancreas. The pancreatic inflammation is so severe that you could say that the pancreas autodestroys itself with all the enzymes it produces to digest food. This enzymes engorge the pancreas and destroy its specialized tissues. Because of this you loose pancreatic tissue with it’s islets (special islets produce insulin) and therefore with no insulin you become diabetic type: insulin dependant.
