yes, DKA (Diabetic Ketoacidosis) can cause vomiting due to high levels of ketones in the blood. When the body is unable to use bloodsugar for energy, the body breaksdown fat as a sorce of energy. Ketones are the product of fat breakdown. Ketones are highly acidic, and makes the blood more acidic, which can causing an general feeling of nausea (which is often the first symptom of DKA). vomiting, dehydration, high blood sugar follow then progress to confusion, lethargy, coma and DEATH.

I saw your note in one of my questions. Type one diabetes can cause nausea and diahrrea because the sugars are not being processed correctly by the liver. The other answerer did a better job explaining than I can. Sorry! The DR. can do a liver function test to see whats up.
