Diabetes mellitus type 1 (Type 1 diabetes, Type I diabetes, T1D, IDDM) is a form of diabetes mellitus. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that results in the permanent destruction of insulin producing beta cells of the pancreas. Type 1 is lethal unless treatment with exogenous insulin via injections replaces the missing hormone.
Type 1 diabetes (formerly known as "childhood," "juvenile," or "insulin-dependent" diabetes) is not primarily a childhood problem. The adult incidence of Type 1 is similar to that for children[1], which is why "Type I" is the preferred term. Many adults who contract Type 1 diabetes are misdiagnosed with Type 2, due to the misconception of Type 1 as a disease of children.
There are 3 types of Diabetes mellitus.
(!) Type 1 Diabetes.(Insulin dependent)
(2) Type 2 Diabetes.(Non-insulin dependent)
(3) Gestational diabetes.(Occurring during pregnancy)
Causes of Diabetes.
(1) Hereditary factors.(parents, brothers & sisters having diabetes.
(2) Overweight & belly stomach.
(3) Over 45 years of age.
(4)Ethnic community more suceptible for diabetes.
(5) Women who had gestational diabetes and those who had delivered a baby having a weight more than 4 Kg.
(6) High Blood Pressure.(above 140/90 mm Hg)
(7) Persons having high triglycerides level.
(8) Persons having high cholesterol in the blood.
Please see the web pages for more details on Diabetes Types 1 & 2 and Gestational diabetes.

There are 2 types of diabetes. Type 1 and Type 2. One you have to take insulin with.
Diabetes is caused by high blood sugar (hyperglycemia) and low blood sugar (hypoglycemia).
The average sugar level is between 80 and 120. If a blood sugar level is too high or too low – it can cause your body to do many things – including (not limiting to) altered mental status, coming off as drunk to some, a diabetic coma – and death.
Diabetes can come at many different ages.
Look up both on the internet – and study both.
Also look up diabetic ketoacidosis, diabetic ketoalcalosis, and study ketones, too.

There are 2 types of diabetes. Type 1 diabetes is also called, Insulin Dependent". This is the type children get, or what happens when a person no longer responds to pills. Their body’s pancreas no longer secretes insulin. Type 2 diabetes is also called Noninsulin Dependent Diabetes. This is the one a lot of adults get. In the beginning, it can be controlled by losing excess weight, eating a well balanced diet, and sometimes taking antidiabetic medication. In this one, your pancreas secretes insulin, but sometimes not enough to lower the blood glucose levels without a little help!

No one is sure what causes type 1 but it occurs in childhood and generally effects people of European heritage. Type 2 can be found in anyone and can be caused by a poor, high sugar diet. Type 2 is typically controlled through diet and type 1 is controlled through use of insulin since in type 1 the body makes little to no insulin.
